What is Reiki
What is Reiki:
Reiki is generally used to describe an energy working technique in which outside energy is channeled to or through the practitioner to promote healing, longevity, relaxation, and strength. While such a description initially seems very simple, the nature of Reiki energy requires a bit more explanation. The very first thing many people have difficulty in accepting with Reiki is that it is an attuned energy. This means that while it may, in theory, be possible to channel Reiki or Reiki like energies through other methods, the official, definite, and quantifiable energy of Reiki is one that a person must be attuned to. Attunement is discussed in other areas of our site, so for now we'll simply say that an attunement to Reiki is a passing down of that vibrational heritage and an opening of energy centers to better accept and promote the flow of Reiki energy for healing.
This, then, brings us to the question of the energy of Reiki and how it does what it does. Reiki energy is a form of life force energy that is spiritually guided. Reiki is a form of divine life force energy that is fully life force aligned. This means that unlike Divine Qi, Qi, or Psychic Energy, Reiki is only suitable for healing the self and others. By it's nature, Reiki is a healing energy, then, that can not be used for aggression, but can be used for a kind of “shielding”.
“An amazingly simple technique to learn, the ability to use Reiki is not taught in the usual sense, but is transferred to the student during a Reiki class. This ability is passed on during an "attunement" given by a Reiki master and allows the student to tap into an unlimited supply of "life force energy" to improve one's health and enhance the quality of life. “
Reiki by its nature focuses on a purity of energy transferred from Reiki practitioner to client. This energy is a channeled energy if done properly ,and as a result does not use up the practitioner's energy but instead replenishes those reserves as it is done. As my first Reiki teacher once told me “if you feel drained after doing Reiki, then you're not doing Reiki” and it holds true. Other energy systems may be mixed in with Reiki to provide enhanced effects or target issues in new ways. This does not imply that these systems are a different kind of Reiki. They are simply overlays of other energy systems alongside Reiki.
Reiki Distance Practice:
Before we bring this article to a close it is good that we should address the nature of distance healing and energy. Recognize first that spiritual energies do not know distance. Distance is a physical energy construct and one that is, as wormhole theory has shown, not exactly definite. Space and time are far more complex than simple distance understanding and we now have the ability to send energy in the form of microwaves thousands of miles almost instantly. In this, spiritual energy work is even less concerned with distance and as such a Reiki treatment at a distance is as functional as a hands on Reiki treatment.
For a master practitioner of Reiki there are even symbols and methods built into the system for sending the energy at a distance. Indeed this powerful system includes much in the way of functional therapeutic energies. It is the crowning healing energy system and one that is exceptionally powerful.
